Theresa Herman, MD
Years as volunteer
• 4 years as a physician; now helping with fundraising
• Served as Medical Director while Dr. Amy Dawson was on medical leave

Why I volunteer
I like to take care of people, be it my family or others. After volunteering
for a few clinics, I realized that most of the patients at Matthew 25 were
so grateful for our help that my volunteering was a natural fit.

Best thing about Matthew 25
I can't say there's one specific thing. The staff cares about everyone, the
volunteers take time away from their own practices and families, the
community supports us immensely, and the patients are grateful for
the help and a listening ear.

Full-time job
Domestic engineer (chauffer, chef, housekeeper, preschool teacher,
gardener, mason, and chief boo-boo kisser)

Family stats
Theresa's husband, Brent, is also a physician. They have 3 children.

Why I volunteer
My father was a physician in Austria, and my grandfather was a
physician in Europe. If not for the Holocaust, I would have been a
physician, too. I love medicine. It's in my blood....I also love
working with the patients. It gives me great satisfaction, knowing
I can help someone.

Best thing about Matthew 25
There is no "best thing." Everything at Matthew 25 is excellent.
I consider Matthew 25 my second home and feel it was sent from God.

Retired from 19 years of front desk work at a plastic surgeon's office.
