April 15, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

4/15/2024

For a joint venture of Matthew 25 and the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation has granted Matthew 25 with a $75,000 grant to purchase a second van to provide free transportation for low-income and uninsured adults to have improved access to healthcare services.

Matthew 25 and the Society of St. Vincent DePaul partner together to provide transportation at no cost for Matthew 25 patients utilizing one van from St. Vincent’s Care Van Program. The demand for transportation has increased tremendously and the only way to sustain this growing need is to operate an additional van. This generous grant will provide $70,000 to purchase the van and an additional $5,000 for van operating expenses.

“Transportation is a common challenge for our patients and without it, they have difficulty accessing healthcare, placing them at a higher risk for medical problems in the future,” shared CEO, Michelle Creager, CPA. “Free transportation makes health a top priority and allows for healthy individuals and a healthy community.”

It is with deep gratitude that Matthew 25 announces this grant and thanks the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation for their continued support.
