Matthew 25 Health and Care will offer 50 free men’s haircuts on Monday, June 29th, 2026, in celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary of serving the Fort Wayne community and 14 surrounding counties in Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio.
Thanks to the generous team at Precision Cuts Full-Service Barber Shop, several barbers will be onsite providing complimentary haircuts to individuals in need. The event is designed to support those who may face barriers to basic self-care services.
“I know there are many less fortunate people in our community who need self-care, and we can provide those services,” said Anthony Washington, owner, and barber at Precision Cuts Full-Service Barber Shop.
Haircuts will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for school-age boys (ages 6 and up) and adult men on Monday, June 29th. Services are limited to the first 50 individuals, and appointments are required.
To schedule an appointment, community members may call Matthew 25 at 260-426-3250, extension 215 (Brigette) or extension 206 (Lauren).
Appointments will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants must provide their name and phone number when scheduling. All services are free, and individuals do NOT need to be a Matthew 25 patient to participate.
Haircuts will take place at the Matthew 25 healthcare center in downtown Fort Wayne, located at 413 E. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
Many patients served by Matthew 25 face barriers to health and wellness, including transportation challenges, childcare needs, and food insecurity. Personal care services such as haircuts are often difficult to access, making this event an important extension of care.
This event comes during a milestone year as Matthew 25 celebrates 50 years of serving the community. Since its founding, the organization has grown from a small free clinic into the region’s only full-time safety-net healthcare provider.
Today, Matthew 25 offers comprehensive services at no cost and does not accept government or insurance funding. Care includes medical, dental, vision, mental health services, more than 25 specialty clinics, and free medications, ensuring every patient receives compassionate care regardless of their ability to pay. The organization primarily serves the working poor, individuals who are employed but unable to afford healthcare.
Matthew 25 hopes to expand similar services in the future, including partnerships to provide free haircuts for women.
Matthew 25 Health and Care is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are 100 percent tax-deductible. The organization relies on the generosity of donors, partners, and foundations to continue its mission for the next 50 years.
