PHP Foundation Provides Non-Interest Bearing Bridge Loan to Renovate and Expand Clinic

Physicians Health Plan of Northern Indiana (PHP),a localcommunity-based leader in providing cost-efficient and innovative healthcare solutions, provided Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic a non-interest bearing bridge loan in the amount of $300,000 to facilitate renovations to the existing clinic and the addition of a Patient Education Center.


Matthew 25, located at 413 E. Jefferson Blvd., fills a critical need in our community, providing free medical, dental, vision, hearing, prescription, wellness education, and patient advocacyservices to uninsured, low-income residents of Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio.


Now in its 41styear, Matthew 25 has expanded services toincludepatient education in either a group setting or 1-on-1 and mental health counseling. Currently, the clinic offersDiabetes Education in both English and Spanish, a Smoking Cessation Program, Nutrition Education, and Asthma Education.Matthew 25 is also looking to offer more education programs, in both English and Spanish, for patients. Additional improvements included flooring upgrades, building upgrades, and infrastructure upgrades.


The bridge loan originated on December 5, 2016 and will be repaid in full on March 27, 2017.

Matthew 25 is very thankful for the interest-free loan and the financial support provided to us by PHP, as it is foundational to our continued operation.”


In fiscal year 2015-2016, the clinic provided 21,022 patient visits. Situated in the heart of downtown Fort Wayne, Matthew 25 is a pillar for primary healthcare in Fort Wayne for the uninsured and isproud to be a part of the fabric of the community.
