Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic and Super Shot will partner this fall to offer flu shots to uninsured adults. Influenza is a respiratory infection that can cause serious complications, particularly to young children, older adults and people with certain medical conditions. Influenza vaccines — though not 100 percent effective — are the best way to prevent the misery of the flu and its complications. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone 6 months of age or older be vaccinated annually against influenza.

Super Shot will be on-site at Matthew 25 during the month of October. There will be no out of pocket of expense; patients must be 18 or older, uninsured, and meet certain income guidelines. Matthew 25 is currently taking appointments. Please call 260-426-3250 x237 for more information.

According to Dr. Bradley Isbister, Matthew 25’s Medical Director, “We are excited to partner with Super Shot and offer our clients the protective vaccines they need. With the resources Super Shot brings, we can leverage the confidence of our Matthew 25 patients with the availability of cancer-preventing vaccines like HPV and Hepatitis, and critical illness vaccines like Influenza and Pneumonia, among others. Our clients, and their families and friends, will be healthier because of it.”

“Super Shot and Matthew 25 have a long history of collaborating – going back to 1992 when Super Shot was launched to ensure that everyone in our community had access to immunizations. We are excited to offer on-site flu clinics at Matthew 25 during the month of October and hope we can expand our collaboration beyond this pilot program. I think this is a great example of how local non-profits can come together and work to serve our community in the most cost effective way.” - Connie Heflin, Executive Director Super Shot.

All clinic costs are covered by monetary and in-kind donations, as the clinic does not accept any form of health insurance or government assistance. To partner with Matthew 25 and for more information on how you can support its community efforts, please visit http://www.matthew25online.org
